Easy home made "ice cream" healthy alternative!

Sunday, June 7, 2015

Summer and ice cream go together like salt and pepper! The most recent trend has been frozen yogurt. Kids love it and while it is marketed as heathy, it can usually be worse than ice cream especially with all of the add ins that the kids have to have.
You can buy your own ice cream and eat it at home but it is still loaded with added sugar and fat.
What about a quick ice cream alternative that you can make in less than 5 minutes and the whole family will enjoy guilt free?
I got this recipe from  the sneak peek of the Fix-ate cook book.
Ingredients:
2 sliced bananas frozen
1 cup mixed frozen strawberries
Dash of almond or coconut milk (unsweetened)

Blend strawberries and bananas until smooth and creamy. Add 1-2 tablespoons of coconut or almond milk if desired.

You can use fresh strawberries and frozen bananas. You can also add some blueberries. Kids can add a few chocolate chips if desired!

21 day fix approved. 1 serving = 1 purple
