Fitness, health, and nutrition are all essential in overall well being. When we take time to invest in ourselves, that carries over to all other aspects of our lives!
When working on your fitness and nutrition goals, do you strive perfection. Does that just set you up for failure. What if you allowed your self a little more wiggle room? Do you think that would allow for long term success?
I love the 85/15 rule that Shaun T uses. 85% of your life should be following a program and making healthy choices. 15% of your life should be fun!
Make a list of 5 of your favorite unhealhty "bad" foods. Mine would be chips, chicken wings, donuts, cheesecake, and nachos. I know I can not eat these foods on a regular basis and still achieve my goals.
Now make a list of 5 really healthy foods that you know you need to be eating. Mine are grilled chicken, broccoli, cucumbers, ground turkey, and steel cut oats.
So what you do is eat your healthy 5 365 days a week! Every day you try to eat those foods and then once a week have 1, yes only 1 of your fun foods. You don't have a whole day or a whole week of junk but if you treat yourself in moderation, you don't fall off the wagon.
This idea allows you to have life long success instead of repeating the vicious cycle of starting, failing, quitting, and starting over.
